Korean Shipmakers" Exports Surpassed Japan"s
Korean shipmakers' exports from early this year to the end of July reached 5,778,992 tons which is 1.3 million tons more than the Japanese shipmakers' exports of 4,473,701 tons for the same period. Last year, during the same period Korean shipmakers exported 7,029,381 tons and the Japanese 7,418,472 tons. Sources in the industry, however, pointed out that this year the amount of exports by both countries' shipmakers decreased sharply compared to last year.
