Beer, Ice Cream Selling Out

The beer and ice cream business are enjoying the prolonged hot weather. The sales of beer and ice cream reduced very sharply during July and August, the best season for the business, due to heavy rain and cool weather.
Jinro-Coors Beer shipped 755,000 cases of beer from Sep. 1 to Sep. 11 in comparison to 744,000 boxes for the same 11 days in August. In the case of OB Brewery, the average daily quantity of beer shipped increased from 200,000 to 240,000 cases.
The ice cream companies even changed their marketing strategies due to a more than 10% increase in sales for this month. An industry source commented. 'The sales in August, normally the hottest month in Korea, decreased by 15% due to heavy rains. However, the sales recovered in September due to extraordinary hot weather. '
