Fluctuation Barriers in Share Prices Enlarged

The Korea Stock Exchange (KSE) announced on September 22 that starting from December 7, the range of fluctuation in share prices per day will be enlarged from the current plus-minus 12% to plus-minus 15%.
KSE also decided to introduce a new 'circuit break system' by which the KSE can stop all stock tradings for 30 minutes if the composite stock price index fell by 10% more than the previous day and this situation continues for more than one minute.
KSE will apply the circuit break system also to the futures and options market if it applies well to the ordinary stock market. The range of fluctuation in futures and options prices per day will be enlarged from the current plus-minus 7% to plus-minus 10%.
