Tension Mounts as Bank Workers Strike Looms

Tension is mounting ahead of a strike scheduled for September 29 by the Federation of the Financial Labor Unions (FOFLU) which represents nine bank labor unions.
FOFLU proclaimed earlier that it would go on strike this coming Tuesday because they feel it is absurd for the banks to plan layoffs for so many bank workers.
The Prosecutors' Office intends to arrest union labor executives related with this strike and use substitute manpower to operate banks. The government in consultation with the Financial Supervisory Committee and the Army will mobilize computer operators and other staff.
The Police Office also announced that it would arrest all those who commit violence and hamper usual banking operations.
