Korean Juliet"s Letter Found 412 Years Later

A moving love letter was found 412 years after it was written. The letter which was written by a bride in 1586, during the middle of the Chosun dynasty, is packed with many expressions of love and longing for her late husband.
Mrs Lee, who was pregnant when her husband Lee Yeng Tae died, wrote the letter mourning the loss of her love and placed the letter in Mr Lee's coffin which was buried in the current Cheongsang Dong, Andong City, North Kyungsang Province.
Her descendants found the letter last April, when they were moving his grave to another location. The contents of the letter which have been preserved at the Andong University Museum were unveiled on September 27.
The letter expresses Mrs Lee's inconsolable lament for her husband's early death and his unborn now fatherless child.
The bride wrote in the letter, ' I used to always ask you if other couples loved each other as we do when we lie together.'
The lady also wrote, ' I miss you so much and put this letter to your coffin, so after reading the letter, please appear to me in my dream.'
Now, the lady's sorrowful emotion is buried, but the spirit towards her bridegroom reminds us over four centuries later of the real love between married couples.
