Four Insurance Plans to be Unified Under "National Insurance"

The four major varieties of state insurance- national pension, medical insurance, industrial disability insurance, and unemployment insurance will be unified as one in 2001 to be called 'national insurance', to avoid any unnecessary overlapping.
Prime Minister Kim Jong Pil on October 1 held a cabinet meeting on this matter and decided to organize a unified insurance committee to control this one-unit insurance system.
If successfully done, the whole fund will reach about 30 billion dollars, and the government will install a computerized network that will contain each citizen's data.
A source from the government said, 'A good social security based country such as England is our model case and we expect more benefits will flow to citizens in the end.'
