Searching for a Constructive Political Dialogue
The ruling coalition and the opposition are searching for a constructive political dialogue. The ruling coalition is expected to show positive initiatives for dialogue with the opposition Grand National Party (GNP) after President Kim's appeasing comment in his press conference after his return from Japan. The GNP considers that the meeting with the President on October 12 will be an important chance to solve the ongoing political deadlock. A source at the ruling coalition said, 'The meeting with the President and Lee Hoi Chang, the leader of the GNP will be held earlier than predicted. '
However, the differences between the ruling and opposition parties are not so narrow. The ruling coalition wants to concentrate on economic affairs in the National Assembly whereas the GNP is willing to make the National Assembly a field of political struggle. So, the conflict between the 'ins and outs' in the National Assembly is forecasted to be inevitable. Both sides agreed to perform parliamentary inspections of the administration for 20 days from October 26.
