Unpaid Tax Stands at 2.12 Trillion Won

According to data which the Tax Administration submitted to Representative Kim Jae Chun of the Grand National Party, unpaid taxes reached 2.12 trillion won as of June. Mr. Kim is part of the parliamentary inspection team auditing the administration's operations. The total sum of unpaid tax was 2.9 trillion won last year.
The unpaid tax rate increased from 5.4% of last year to 7.4% this year. The deliquency rate for the Taegu area was 15.5%, the highest in Korea, followed by Kyungin area at 12.7% and Chungbu area with 12.2% in uncollected taxes. Seoul and the surrounding area recorded 4.4%, the lowest, followed by Kwagnju, 5.3%, Taejun, 7.0%, and Pusan 8.0%.
