Mutual Fishery Pact Getting Closer for Two Koreas

The mutual fishery agreement between South and North Korea is on the go.
A source from the government, on October 15, stated 'Taking advantage of the North's abundant fishing resources together with our funding, we are now negotiating an agreement with the North. We have met 3 times in Beijing since we obtained permission by the Ministry of Unification last May.'
He added, 'A synergistic effect is expected if we are able to draw up an agreement with North Korea. South Korea will be offering eqipment, ships, and gasoline while the North has plenty of cheap labor, power and natural resources.'
The two sides will exchange delegates soon to talk over the agreement.
