National Volunteer Week Starts on 19th
'Let's find new hope through volunteer activity.'The 5th annual, week-long, National Volunteer Festival led by JoongAng Ilbo (sponsored by Samsung Electronics) will be held from October 19-25.
One million participants including students and various institutes will highlite their unique volunteer activities.
This year's slogan is 'Helping the Unemployed'. Due to the current economic turbulence, volunteers will give assistance to those who have lost their jobs by offering shelters, food, and even medical support.
Kyungnam province has the largest volunteer network with 94,000 members including the region's YMCA.
