Pres. Kim Forecasts Full-Scale Growth In 2000

' The Korean economy will recover from the second half of next year and accomplish full-scale growth from the year 2000, if the current restructuring and economic boosting measures are concluded successfully.'
President Kim Dae Jung delivered sentiments like this one throughout an address he gave in the National Assembly on October 19.
President Kim also said, ' From now on, the government will push the current economic boosting policies much more actively.'
President Kim reiterated that he would press the government to conclude the five reform plans agreed on by both the government and business sector within the year and support restructuring, including the public sector, with the utmost priority.
He also emphasized that the government would install measures for preventing corruption by the first half of next year.
Meanwhile, he urged the political sector to form a consensus for reform, including political fundraising and the political parties' operations.
