Foreign Investment Increases in Korea"s Stock Market

Foreigners are increasing their investment in Korea's stock market. As the international market situation improves due to such good news as the U.S.'s recent lowering of interest rates and the Japanese yen's rise against the U.S. dollar, investor's sentiments towards Korea are abruptly reviving.
According to the Bank of Korea, today, from October 1 to 19, the inflow of foreign investors' money reached 500 million dollars.
In terms of stock purchases, foreigners who had sold 296.9 billion won of stocks from April to August bought 113.3 billion won worth of stocks in September alone and 468.9 billion won in the first 19 days of October.
The foreign investments for short-term financial products such as Commercial Paper, Certificate of Deposit and Repurchasible Bonds were no more than 27.3 billion won to August-end since February when investment for the short-term products was opened to foreigners.
Whereas, in the bond market, foreigners have been selling continuously since April and sold 10.8 billion won of bonds just in October.
