Korean Economic Reform Best in Asia
Korea received the best evaluation in terms of economic recovery progress among the five Asian countries which have suffered economic turbulence recently. The American Chamber of Commerce in Korea(AMCHAM) recently held a meeting of the Asian-Pacific Council of American Chambers in Hanoi, Vietnam and judged the Korean situation the highest.
Members from other areas such as Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia also agreed with this assessment. The especially rapid restructuring movement under the leadership of President Kim Dae Jung earned high credit, AMCHAM said.
APCAC conference is held every two years and the next meeting is scheduled for April 1999, in Singapore.
