FKI is Changing

The Federation of Korean Industries (FKI), a benchmark interest institute which represents the concerns of big chaebol companies, is changing.
FKI is rapidly changing its daily operations and activities since Kim Woo Jung, chairman of Daewoo Group, was inaugurated as chairman of the FKI in September.
Chairman Kim is personally overseeing FKI's daily operations and workings and intends to fortify the Institute's status. He also required all of FKI's employees to report to work one hour earlier from 9 am to 8 am. He announced in his inauguration address that he would remake the image of the FKI into a substantial core of the business sector.
He is trying to open windows for conversation with non-governmental organizations including the Citizens Coalition of Economic Justice.
A source at the FKI commented, ' In the past, the FKI was just a lobby institute for the interests of the business sector, but now it is becoming the mecca for designing the future of the business sector'.
