Steel Companies Concerned about Anti-Dumping Measures by the U.S.

Steel companies are concerned about anti-dumping measures by the US government.
According to the Korea Trade Association on November 4, the North America Steel Association recently asked the Commerce Department of the US to apply 'emergency situation' conditions against stainless steel products imported from foreign countries including Korea. The 'emergency situation' means that the U.S. government can decide anti-dumping measures immediately, without waiting for a 'preliminary decision'.
Therefore, if the U.S. Commerce Department accepts the demands of U.S. steel companies, Korean steel companies will suffer a deep impact.
From January to August, exports of Korean steel products toward the U.S. market increased 136% in volumes and 97% in sales amount on the year.
