Auto-makers Battle Small Exporters

A battle is brewing surrounding car exports. Small exporters which now deal with car exports insist that they can export cars freely.
Whereas, car makers including Hyundai and Daewoo Motors oppose the car exports by small companies because they feel that only car makers can export cars because automobile products are quite different than other items which can be freely exported.
Hyundai Motors recently sent their dealers and selling agents formal papers to ban the sale of cars for the purpose of exporting.
Daewoo Motors also announced that it would send letters of termination to those agents who sell cars to small exporters.
Small exporting companies are resisting, saying that there are no rights or reasons for the carmakers to ban car exports by small companies.
An official at the Fair Trade Committee said, ' In principle, anybody can export any items freely. The actions by car makers are examples of the interruption of businesses on the basis of the fair trade law.'
