New Lactobacillus to Prevent Stomach Cancer Developed

A new strain of lactobacillus, which studies show can prevent stomach cancer, was developed by a Korean technology institute.
The Livestock Technology Institute (LTI), a substructure under the Agriculture Promotion Agency, announced on November 10 that it has developed a new strain of lactobacillus which destroys halicobacter bacteria the main cause of stomach cancer, gastritis and stomach ulcers. The institute has applied for a patent.
LTI explained that it succeeded in growing new strains of lactobacillus in the stomachs of Hampshire pigs. The new strain of lactobacillus was effective in killing halicobacter bacteria and then harmlessly passing through to the bowels where it can be passed.
LTI added that it would produce a powder form for the new lactobacillus and develop a yogurt containing the new lactobacillus as well as other anti-cancer drugs afterwards.
