A Sledge-hammer Awaits "Satellite Officials"
'Sledge-hammers will be taken to incompetent officials!'At last the Kim Dae Jung administration has drawn their sword on the 'laziest-in-the-world' governmental officials.
More than twenty thousand officials called 'satellite servants' who have no specific role or assignment will be dismissed soon.
The government on November 12 announced that officials who do not currently have assignments will be 'pursuaded' to retire by the end of this year while provincial civil servants will also be under the gun as soon as the structural reshuffle of governmental organizations is complete in March 1999.
