Pres. Kim Hopes for Military Cooperation with China

President Kim Dae Jung, in a press conference on November 13, on his third day of his visit to China, said, ' I expect that the two countries will develop their relationship into the direction which both can converse openly about military matters to maintain the peace of the Korean peninsular.'
He also explained that Korea suggested enlarging the window of their security conversation from the current vice ministerial class to a ministerial level with China.
Meanwhile, both countries announced a joint-communique composed of 12 main clauses which the two leaders agreed yesterday abreast of President Kim's press conference.
The communique comprises future cooperative efforts by the two countries: joint efforts for overcoming the financial crisis in Asia and cooperation for maintaining the peace and stability of the Korean Peninsular.
