The Coldest Winter of the 90s
This winter is expected to be the coldest of the 90s.Especially, after mid-December, unusually cold weather accompanied by frequent snowstorms is forecasted.
The Weather Office(WO) forecasted that this year the average temperature is expected to be approximately two degrees lower than the yearly average, heavy snows are expected to occur twice in December, three or four times in January and once or twice in February.
The monthly average temperature in December would on the whole be the same (minus 2~ plus 8 degrees centigrade) as previous years but in January of 1999 it will be lower than previous years (minus 5~ plus 5 degree), the WO forecasted.
