The opposition Grand National Party(GNP)held a national party convention on Yoido island at their party headquarters on November 26.
About 1,600 GNP representatives participated in the meeting and the members elected 9 new vice presidents.
The GNP also finished organizing their new staff for the party concluding the transitional operation begun during the massive political investigation by government prosecutors.
The party elected 9 vice presidents including Kwon Ik Hyun, Kim Deok Yong, Park Keun Hye the eldest daughter of former president Park Chung Hee, Lee Woo Jae, and Yang Chung Kyu.
In his keynote address, President Lee Hoi Chang emphasized, 'Since we finished the party's reform, it is about time we take a stand for the have-nots and middle class people. We should halt the contentious standoffs in politics and instead seek mutual solutions to the problems people are facing. The government should also accept us as their partner in their administration.'
