Deaths from Cancer On the Rise

The death rate from various forms of cancer, stemming from pollution and stress, is increasing sharply. The National Statistical Office (NSO) released statistics on causes of death on November 27.
The NSO classified 238,700 deaths into 19 different causes. Circulatory illness recorded the most with 23.4%, followed by cancer (22.2%) and accidental causes (13.6%).
The percentage of deaths due to cancer rose by 4.0% whereas that of circulatory illness and accidents dropped by 6.6% and 0.2%, respectively.
In regards to male deaths, 146.6 people per 100,000 people died from cancer, the most, followed by circulatory ailments (119.9) and accidents (102.3).
122.8 women died from circulatory illnesses, the most, followed by cancer (83.6) and accidents (38.3) among 100,000 people.
A source at NSO analyzed, 'Deaths from various forms of cancer caused by pollution, stress, smoking, alcohol, and bad eating habits increased but deaths from circulatory ailments and accidents decreased due to prevention and caution.'
