Fuel Economizing Products Don"t Work
Fuel economizing equipment was discovered to be not only ineffective but it also discharged more pollutants. The National Environment Institute and Korea Consumer Protection Board (KCPB )announced results of their tests on November 30.They analyzed ten products and revealed that the fuel efficiency of cars which were attached five fuel saving products was reduced by 0.1% to 1.2%. The other five products discharged much more pollutants when the products were attached, the fuel efficiency was reduced by 1.2% and pollutants discharged from the car increased by 57.1%.
The equipment does not work because it does not properly fit to the existing structures of the car. The sales of fuel economizing equipment increased rapidly due to exaggerated advertisements. Sales are expected to reach 300 billion won this year.
