30 Biggest Chaebols Decreased Their Debt Guarantees by 25%

The thirty biggest chaebols decreased their debt guarantees by 24.6% (6.3 trillion won) from 25.7 trillion won as of April 1 to 19.4 trillion won as of September 30.
The five biggest chaebols decreased their debt guarantees by 21.5% from 11.132 trillion won to 8.737 trillion won for the same period.
Whereas, the chaebols from the sixth to the 30th decreased a comparatively amount of 27% from 14.601 trillion won to 10. 661 trillion won, the Fair Trade Commission (FTC) announced on December 1.
Accordingly, the number of companies among the thirty biggest chaebols which have debt guarantees with other subsidiaries decreased by 33 from 199 to 166 for the six month period.
