Economic Hearings Will Open on January 8
The ruling parties decided that the economic hearings, designed to determine the extent of the former government's responsibility for the IMF bail-out and recession, will start on January 8 and continue for 30 days.The itinerary will be the same as announced earlier.
Cho Se Hyung, acting president of the ruling NCNP, announced on December 10 in a press conference, ' The National Assembly will open economic hearings without fail on January 8, 1999 after the ruling party consults with the opposition party.'
Accordingly, the ruling parties including the ULD party submitted a letter requesting investigative power for the National Assembly to conduct an investigation .
