Heavy Smog in Winter

A heavy smog enveloped Seoul during the entire morning of December 14.
Traffic moved slowly and visibility was restricted to within one hundred meters.
Kimpo Airport officials canceled numerous flights during the morning. 13 flights including KAL flight 902, scheduled to arrive at Kimpo Airport at 06:30 a.m., were diverted to Kimhae and Taegu airports.
More than 10 international flights and 22 domestic flights were postponed.
The Meteorological Administration explained, 'The heavy smog was caused by warm wind with dense humidity from China. It is unusual for a heavy smog to appear in winter.'
For the day, contamination degree of micro-dust became 2.6 times higher than that of last week.
