Historical Papers on "Geobukseon" or Turtleship Found
Historical papers on the famed 'Geobukseon' were recently found.'Geobukseon' or turtleship was an armored warship developed by Admiral Lee Sun Shin used to fight the Japanese Navy in 1593 when the Japanese invaded Korea.
Historians are excited by the papers existence since many more facts will likely be ascertained on the first armored warship.
The papers were publically released on December 21 by Lee Jong Hak, who has retained the papers since he discovered them at a house in Tong Young, South Kyungsang Province two years ago.
The papers were being used as wall paper in the house but are now being assessed as an important historical find.
