Rose Exports Blossom 6,400 Percent

Rose exports, as of November this year, were 64 times higher than for the same period last year, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry announced on December 22.
According to the Ministry, the value of roses exported this year had already reached 2.6 million dollars, a 6,400 percent rise over last year's. Roses were easily the best selling gardening flowers.
The total value of all flower exports climbed to 10.8 million dollars: the first time that sales surpassed the 10 million dollar level.
Japan's flower market is in the neighborhood of 500 million dollars and the Ministry will be concentrating on penetrating it as well as other Asian markets.
