Deloitte & Touche to Evaluate Samsung and Daewoo Swap

Deloitte and Touche, the international accounting firm, was chosen as the independent evaluating agency for the 'big deal' between Samsung and Daewoo. The evaluation will deal with projected profits as well as current manpower and assets.
If the two sides agree on the agency and the evaluation's format, the agency will issue its first report within four weeks and completely finish the assessment process within three months.
The 'Committee of Five', formed for the Samsung and Daewoo business swap, held a meeting and determined Deloitte and Touche.
Oh Ho Keun, the chairman of the committee said, 'We can accelerate the big deal between the two companies. If possible, this can be finished within a month's time.'
However, a source at Daewoo did not agree with the chairman's opininion, by saying, 'The evaluation of Daewoo Electronics will take two to three months due to its numerous local companies in foreign countries.'
