Unemployment in November Rises to 7.3 Percent

November's unemployment rate rose again to 7.3 percent.
According to the National Statistical Office (NSO), on December 23, the unemployment rate increased by 0.2 percent from October and the number of job seekers increased by 21,000 to 1.557 million.
The NSO explained the rise was due to the fact that soon-to-be graduates this year were unable to find jobs and employment in construction and agriculture decreased due to seasonal factors.
Korea's national unemployment rate recorded an all time high of 7.6 percent in July but had been decreasing slightly for three months until October.
