Frequent Dining Out Can Cause Stomach Cancer

Dining out more than once a day and eating hot soup can double the risk of contracting stomach cancer. Dr. Choi Soo Yong's team at the Korea Cancer Center Hospital revealed these findings from a survey of 360 patients including 125 stomach cancer patients.
Dr. Choi said that preference for hot soup, frequent dining out, and rapid eating raised the incidence of stomach cancer 2.1 times, 1.9 times, and 1.6 times, respectively. Dr. Choi commented, 'If someone dines out frequently, he can be exposed to various bad materials. Eating food too quickly and hot food can cause stimulation to the stomach that is harmful.'
Additionally, if a person is in the habit of drinking alcohol before eating, he or she has a 1.8 times higher probability of stomach cancer than those who drink after a meal. If someone usually consumes only alcohol without eating food, he or she has a 2.5 time higher probability than average people of stomach cancer.
