World Millenium Festival

Many countries are getting ready for the year 2000's New Year's celebration.
New Zealand and Australia who will be greeting the very first sun rise of 2000, will have a giant beach party featuring spectacular fireworks.
Beijing, China will see a massive wedding ceremony in which 2,000 couples will tie the knot.
London was already named as a 'Millenium City' and will, among other things, have midnight mass at the historic St. Paul's Cathedral. New York's Times Square will shower confetti and balloons on a crowd of at least half a million.
While foreign countries are eager to mark the event as a momentous opportunity to celebrate both national and international harmony and forge a new start, Korea has not been preparing for any special celebration.
'Vision 2000' under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism is planning a 'Cosmopolitan Message to open a peaceful century' done with songs and chorus and a '2000 Formative Arts Festival'.
Due to the current economic recession, preparations for the new millenia keep being delayed and many fear that the opportunity will be lost for another 1,000 years.
