No Free Plastic Bags Any Longer

From March, plastic bags will not be given for free in 9,300 distribution stores including department stores, discount stores, and supermarkets.
Additionally, restaurants and bars cannot use disposable goods including wooden toothpicks, chopsticks, and paper cups.
The Ministry of Environment announced on January 7 that it will fortify the law on resources recycling promotion.
The revision stipulates that stores should sell plastic bags or shopping bags and restaurants can use toothpicks only made from dextrin.
However, restaurants which cater to special ceremonies including weddings and funerals, will be an exception.
Many disposable goodsmakers are unhappy with this decision by saying that it will damage plenty of companies.
