Youths Are Speaking a Different Language

The neologisms used among young people are becoming a serious issue. People in their 30s as well as people older than 40 cannot understand much of the lexicon which young people in their teens and 20s use unless it is explained to them.
This tendency which began to spread two to three years ago is causing a communication breakdown between generations.
The computer network's explosion functions as fertile soil for the new vocabulary. Teens developed their unique language in cyber-space. As teens grow, it spreads.
Dr. Lee Ju Haeng of Joongang University said, 'The cultural gap between generations caused the unique verbal utterances used by young people.'
