Foreign Carmakers Getting Aggressive Again

Just as the car market expects a little rosier future, foreign carmakers began an all-out aggressive marketing campaign including the opening of a joint-motor show.
Foreign carmakers including Ford, GM, and BMW, which experienced sluggish sales in 1998, plan to introduce 20 new models to the Korean market this year.
Ford will introduce its Lincoln Towncar, Taurus, and Windstar and GM will sell its 1999 Cadillac-Seville model in June.
Daimler-Chrysler will highlite its 1999 models Chrysler 300M and New Grand Jeep Cherokee and BMW will sell its new 'Three Series' and Free Lander.
These companies plan to hold an import-car motor show instead of participating in the Seoul Motor Show.
Japanese car makers are also expected to enter the Korean market aggressively.
