Economic Hearings will Start on the 20th

A committee formed by the ruling National Congress for New Politics(NCNP) and United Liberal Democrats(ULD) to organize the framework for the economic hearings decided on January 11 that it will start the hearings on January 20.
The committee also decided that the number of institutions which will be called upon to give its assessment of why the country had to receive an IMF bailout is set at nine including the Ministry of Finance and Economy (MOFE).
According to the committee's agenda on the first day of the hearings, the MOFE will report followed by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Energy and the Ministry of Information and Telecommunication on the second day. On the third day, the Financial Supervisory Commission(FSC) will give its assessment of the 1997 economic crisis.
Kia and Hanbo companies, Korea Development Bank, Korea First Bank and Sandong and Chungwoon accountant firms will take the stand on the fourth day.
