Poet "Ko Eun" to Lecture at Harvard

Ko Eun (66), the famous Korean poet, will depart Korea on January 20 for Harvard and Berkley universities in the United States.
Mr. Ko will study for one year at Harvard University as well as lecture there once a week. The university decided that April 15 will be 'Ko Eun Day' in which a variety of cultural ceremonies and readings will be held.
He will also be a lecturer for six months at Berkley University.
He became a monk when he was eighteen years old but after 10 years of a peaceful, meditative life, he left to become an activist for democracy.
During the his life, he wrote more than 120 books of poetry and novels.
