Opening Ceremony of NIS

The former KCIA changed its name to the Agency of National Security Planning(ANSP) in 1981 under President Chun Doo Hwan who subsequently purged the organization which he once led.
Now the ANSP is trying to put forth a better, perhaps softer, image to the public.
On January 22, it officially changed the organization's name to the National Intelligence Service(NIS).
The NIS also held an opening ceremony for its Internet site. Its address is 'http://www.nis.go.kr'.
It began providing information, amounting to more than 4,000 documents, on its Internet site today. The home page features 11 different menu selections including North Korea information, foreign information, and unification and security.
Its system is designed to prevent international hackers from infiltrating its network.
The NIS will give private identification numbers to special persons related to North Korea and national security affairs to access portions of its network system to provide high-level, restricted intelligence information.
