Prosecutor Shim Suspended from Duty

Shim Je Ryoon, head of Taegu High Prosecutor's Office, who had publicly demanded the resignation of Prosecutor-General Kim Tae Jeong, was asked to suspend his duties by the minister of justice on January 29.
Shim, however, came to his Taegu office as usual on the 29th and stated, 'I have not officially received any details on possible penalty actions from above.'
The Ministry of Justice(MOJ) announced Shim's punishment in public, and will soon summon him to participate in a disciplinary hearing in Seoul.
The Taegu head prosector's position officially became empty on the 29th, and all work and responsibility will be handed over to the deputy chief prosecutor, Myong Roh Seung.
Shim said, 'I will look through their decision and then decide my next step.' He did nor return to his home on January 28 to avoid the press and added he will stay outside his home for the next five days awaiting a disciplinary result.
