Big Traffic Expected for Lunar New Year"s

During the Lunar New Year's holidays, 27.3 million people are expected to travel, either to visit their hometown or to various tourist spots.
The Ministry of Construction and Transportation (MOCT) announced its special transportation plan for the holidays on February 1 in order to deal with the enormous amount of traffic.
The MOCT expects that the total number of people who will be travelling during the three-day holiday will increase by 10 percent this year to 27.3 million. Additionally, the number of cars on the nation's expressways will grow by 11 percent to 12.7 million.
The traffic is predicted to be heaviest on February 15 and 17. The Korean Railroad Administration plans to increase trains by 18 percent to 4,232 and expects to transport 2.8 million passengers.
The number of people who will take to the skies is predicted to reach 400,000 while a further 240,000 will voyage by ship to their hometowns. For traffic information on expressways, highways, and reservations for trains and planes, call '1333'. For expressway information only call 02-700-2030.
