Kang Stresses Economic Boost
Kang Bong Kyun, chief economic secretary to the Blue House(Chong Wa Dae), stressed on February 3 that the government will be concentrating on economic policies to boost the economy. He also added that it will enlarge the flow of money in the latter half of the year.
Kang was invited by the Federation of Korean Industries(FKI) and delivered a speech on 'Economic Policy and Vision of the People's Government' at the Hyatt Hotel.
Referring to the restructuring deal between Samsung and Daewoo, he asserted that Samsung should take charge of all liabilities under the discounted cash flow system for the settlement of accounts in the two groups.
It is a different view than the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy holds which has suggested that creditors should share the debt.
Kang emphasized that the current 'Big Deal' or restructuring movement must be finished by the end of this year without any sacrifice spared.
