NK Proposes Talks with South Korea
Park Jie Won, chief presidential spokesperson at the Blue House(Chong Wa Dae), said, 'North Korea's proposal to talks with us over the investigation of the North's Kumchangri nuclear facilities is evidence that North Korea is altering its hard-line stance.'He held a briefing at the Blue House, on February 4, and added, 'If the North keeps enlarging its diplomatic efforts while curtailing its more negative approaches, there will be fruitful results in mutual exchanges and joint developments.'
North Korea, on February 3, officially suggested mutual dialogues with South Korea at a variety of levels including governmental, parliamentary, and civilian.
It claimed, 'We made the proposal for meetings between the two Koreas as a turning point for future unification.'
