Korean Cars Popular in the States

Hyundai and Daewoo automobiles are increasingly becoming popular in the United States.
Hyundai began exporting its 1999 Sonata EF model to the U.S. in October 1998. The Washington Post reported last month in its special car section that Hyundai was a just a cheap ride in 1986 when it first entered the market but it has now become an economical and reliable ride, equivalent to the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry.
Hyundai sold 14,000 Sonatas over the last three months of 1998.
Daewoo plans on taking full advantage of the Internet to boost sales on its models. On February 3, the USA Today's lead article in its business section was nothing but praise for Daewoo.
Daewoo said, 'Our main target audience is young college students. An Internet marketing and sales site will be launched within the first half of this year.'
