Public Offerings Boom

The public offering of corporations' stocks is expected to revitalize this year because the number of companies which want to raise funds through the stock market is increasing.
The Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) revealed on February 6 that there are currently 90 companies which are in the process of going public.
Among them, more than 20 companies are negotiating details including the schedule procedure.
More than 10 companies which are already listed on the KOSDAQ market are preparing to be listed on the stock exchange.
Aside from the stock exchange, more companies plan to list on the KOSDAQ market because the future of the market looks prosperous due to rapid growing transaction volume of two to three million shares per day.
A source at the FSC said, 'As the stock market recovers from October of last year, the number of companies which plan to go public is increasing.'
