Electronics Makers Find Success in Foreign Markets

LG Electronics has been exporting its 'Health Care' air conditioners to Saudi Arabia since last year.
LG's designers took into account Saudi Arabia's high temperatures and desert landscape and incorporated an air purifier function to its airconditioner.
Last year LG sent 60,000 units to Saudi to take top spot in its electronics market.
Not only LG, but Samsung and Daewoo Electronics are discriminating all their products according to foreign countries' unique circumstances.
They are not totally changing their product lines but rather adding specialized functions without incurring much of an increase in costs.
In 1998 Samsung exported 100,000 sets of 'Super Horn' TVs which have excellent speaker functions to Vietnam where TVs are often watched outdoors or in large communal rooms. Daewoo also considered Japan's narrow houses and invented small-sized fridges of 90, 120 and 150 litres.
It sold 190,000 units in a very competitive and choosy Japanese market.
