Public Works Projects Boom to Construction Industry

Full-scale construction projects are about to get underway as spring draws nearer. The government is rushing early building orders to boost the sluggish economy.
According to the Ministry of Construction and Transportation on February 10, government-related construction reached 285 instances worth 1.5 billion dollars which is 11 times more than that of last year at the same period.
Plus, a lot more major projects such as the expressway between Chonju and Hamyang are waiting in line.
During the early half of the year, the amount of publicly-financed construction is expected to reach 14 billion dollars.
Therefore most construction companies are eager to hook into the big projects and some of them have not hesitated to go to court in order to procure the lucrative contracts.
Doctor Yoon Young Sun from the Construction and Industry Institute predicted, 'The government's positive action will be of help for unemployed workers and eventually it will raise the nation's economic power.'
