"Promising Companies" to Be Part of New KOSDAQ 500

The government will induce the listing of 500 promising companies in order to vitalize stock trading in the KOSDAQ market.
Currently the number of listed companies in the KOSDAQ market is no more than 320 with only about 110 companies among them now being traded.
According to the Ministry of Finance and Economy (MOFE) and the Office for Small and Medium-Sized Companies, on February 11, the government will actively seek promising small and medium-sized companies to be added to KOSDAQ.
To do so, the government will initially select promising companies and hold a series of explanatory meetings for the companies.
Meanwhile, the government will also start its so-called 'venturenet' services, sometime in May or June, which will allow investors to acquire informations about listed companies in the KOSDAQ market through the Internet.
