Establishment of Foreign Schools Made Easier

The Ministry of Education on February 11 announced that it has eased the strict guidelines on foreign schools operating in Korea. In a dramatic reversal of government policy, it might approve any foreign institute that wishes to open in Korea.
These schools will have various tax exemptions and their diplomas will also be recognized by Korean educational institutes.
A source from the Ministry said, 'The regulations of their establishment will be less strict than domestic schools.'
There are presently 56 foreign schools with 7,900 students in Korea such as Seoul Foreign, Seoul International and Seoul Japanese Schools.
