New Internet Phone Services Coming to Korea
A new type of Internet phone service will be available in Korea within the first half of this year. The service will allow callers unlimited use of the phone, for a fixed monthly fee.
Brandon Lee, USA Talks' manager for Asia-Pacific, recently announced, 'The company developed a long distance phone system via the Internet, and commenced services throughout the U.S., on March 1. We will introduce the system into Korea at the earliest within the first half of this year.'
He added that the company is now negotiating with two Korean telecommunication companies beginning with the letters 'D' and 'O' (presumably Dacom and Onsei), and the phone fares will be comparable to the level of long distance calls in the U.S.
