Tae-Bo Video Tops in U.S. market

The latest exercise craze in the U.S. is an interesting amalgam of East and West. The top exercise video in the U.S. market is called 'Tae-Bo', which is a combination of Korean Taekwondo and western boxing that is designed for an aerobics workout.
The Los Angeles Times on March 4 reported that Tae-Bo is booming since its debut last fall. The video has sold 1.5 million copies, and is unquestionably a bestseller. It quickly rose to the #1 position in Billboard's chart for exercise videos.
The video retails at 39 dollars, and total sales, so far, have reached 75 million dollars.
Tae-Bo's creator, however, was not Korean or even of Korean descent, but an African-American named Billy Blanks.
He became famous as the personal trainer and workout guru for such celebrities as Jane Fonda, and he appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show.
